VerseWrights is Closing...
Readers, Guests and Friends:
We are sorry to inform you that as of December 31, 2017, VerseWrights will no longer be publishing any new poetry, and as of now is no longer accepting new poets or submissions of any kind. On December 31, we will also begin winding down our social media accounts.
The simple fact is that we are closing VerseWrights.
It our intention to remove the site from the Web entirely on June 30, 2018.
I should point out, however, we may archive the site and keep it online for those who wish to visit. This is presently under consideration after several contributing poets suggested it. In any event, the site will not be updated in any meaningful way. It will, as it were, be a largely inactive, archival site before it is removed entirely--whenever that happens.
Here is why we are closing...
In these last five years, the site has grown more than I ever could have imagined, and it presently about a thousand pages. I simply cannot keep up with it. Also, in a way, VerseWrights has taken over my life and I need to free myself from it in order to accomplish other things as my age advances.
VerseWrights was a labor of love for slightly over five years. All good things, of course, come to an end, and I knew VerseWrights would have to stop publishing sometime, and sometime is, sadly, nearly upon us.
I would like to thank our many, many readers for their steadfast participation in VerseWrights. Such fidelity should not be rewarded this way, but, alas, it is the reality which we all must face.
