honest

destiny is good
full deep self isolation
breathes odors deeply

the peeling paint is
beautifully falling from
the walls to the floor

I need contentment
to form a new opinion
of my newest self

your voice on the phone

urges me to think beautiful thoughts
vacations we took, restaurants we loved,
wines we tasted together, trails we hiked

every thought simply becomes a new burden
the past invading current pains in my chest
which feel like they will succeed only with death

thank you for calling

cell mate

I’ve heard it all too many times
I'm tired of your stories

no sense in crying
just because I said that

I'm tired of my own stories
even though I never say them out loud

Let's pretend to be spiders and crawl
out of one of those cracks by the window

if you search

deep enough you will pity all mankind
there is no one who does not suffer

we all live with illusions
from the thorn bushes
buried in fields within our souls

there is no advantage yelling allegiance
to the darker sides of our thoughts
because in truth we all live there

we just learn to hide from ourselves

accuracy

the only things sure
are constant anger
and depression

my eyes see blurry
my ears hear blurry
my mouth speaks blurry

my hands scratch
words on the walls
and the floor

you thought

you wouldn’t survive here
without the light of the sun

the crime of other lifetimes
allow you to recall there is guilt

this punishment will cover
the suffering of your whole life

you will survive as a flower
blanketed by shadows

put it all out there

what can they do
outfox you?

probably
but who cares?

they do not have a lock on truth
though their constant lies become truth

they wear the name of saints
pulsing with the blood of demons

their compost of words lies dormant
in the field gathering mildew

they can't put you down further
than they have already
there's no place lower to go
their life is a facade
and yours is over

still you breathe air
they will never understand

amen
